Baddest OnTheBlock: Nitty Scott, MC from New York, USA

When we’re talking bad, we mean superbad. That’s why we had to link up with the #baegod herself Nitty Scott, MC – One of the illest female MC’s in the game right now.

Who are you, where are you from?
I’m Nitty Scott, MC and I’m a rising artist, MC and philanthropist. I like to say that I’m Michigan born, Florida raised and New York paid.

When and how did you start rappin?
I was a creative writing major in art school, writing lots of poetry and performing spoken word. I transitioned from reciting verses over background music to actually selecting beats and writing to them in 10th grade, then my very first mixtape was born.

What’s been a highlight in your career so far?
One highlight has been my Sprite endorsement; to have such a big corporation acknowledge my influence within the culture is huge. As apart my affiliation with them, I’ve been able to open for Drake and Nas, see my lyrics printed on a limited edition can, and be featured in a BET special. Shout-out to Sprite!

What artists would be on your dream posse cut?
Well, ME (duh), Ab-Soul, Action Bronson and Princess Nokia featuring like, Stevie Nicks. Haha.

How would you describe your style?
I don’t know, I’m kind of a fluid person with a flexible sense of self. I’m not married to any aesthetic or sound. The only thing I always embody is a street sensibility mixed with conscious lifestyle.

What’s your current fashion obsession?
Chokers, chokers and chokers.

Do you have a style icon?
I can’t say that I do. I draw style inspiration from all types of people and places.
